A paddock of Linseed seed grown for Bio Oils being harvested |
TraceabilityFrom Soil to Oil...Bio Oils has been working closely with Canterbury growers for many years to ensure the supply of fully traceable and quality Linseed seed for the production of our Flax Seed Oil and Flax Seed Fibre. Bio Oils contracts the crop directly with the farmer, which allows us to monitor the quality and progress of the crop, from the moment the seed goes into the ground, right through to the finished product. This traceability guarantees the quality of the seed planted in the ground, the resultant seed going into the presses, and therefore the finest quality Flax Seed Oil and Flax Seed Fibre. Once harvested the dried, ripe Linseed seed is machine cleaned at local seed dressing plants. This process is overseen by Daryl, who liaises with the dressing plants to ensure only quality seed is delivered to the Bio Oils premises. Our cold-pressing plant is central to our grower base and just a short distance from the dressing plants, so transportation time is kept to a minimum. As standard, each grower line of Linseed is cold-pressed individually, to ensure full traceability back to the individual paddock where it was grown. Each line is tested by an authorized, independent New Zealand laboratory to ensure that the composition is uniform and that the standards of the Flax Seed products are of the highest quality. Additional tests can be performed subject to the individual requirements of our customers. To trace your product, please go to the 'Trace your Product' page where you will see a Google map showing the Bio Oils' Grower details. You will find a Grower Reference on the Certificate of Analysis which accompanied your order... use this reference to locate the Grower of the linseed seed pressed for your order. |
